Kylie Hannant is a highly experienced finance executive with over 30 years of expertise spanning the creative, service, and manufacturing sectors. A CPA-qualified accountant, Kylie is recognised for her strategic leadership and precision in financial management, ensuring accuracy and confidence for stakeholders.

Her extensive background and proven ability to navigate complex financial environments make her a trusted advisor and an asset to our organisation. Kylie holds degrees in Accounting and Arts and was awarded First Class Honours in 2024.

Amy joined the BRSI board in 2022 and became Chair of the board in December 2025. Amy is a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and a Chartered Tax Advisor with over 20 years’ experience providing advice and guidance to businesses to achieve their financial goals.

Amy commenced her career at Ernst & Young, where she provided tax and accounting advice to a wide range of businesses across South Australia. Amy joined McMahon Services in 2010 and served as CFO until 2018 when she took on the newly created role of CEO for McMahon Investments (the Family Office of looking after a broad range of operations, including plant hire, retirement living, industrial, commercial and residential property, and marine services. Amy has a strong commercial acumen, with a particular focus on financial reporting, risk management, and strategy.

Joining the Board in 2025, Ian Stone is a strong leader with over 30 years of experience working as a CEO and Non-Executive Director across some of Australia’s most recognisable organisations. As Chief Executive of RAA for 15 years until 2022, Ian was able to build up the organisation to new strengths in areas of membership satisfaction, employee satisfaction and revenue. Ian is ‘passionate about creating value and growth through innovation, culture, and business transformation.’ A Chartered Accountant, Ian’s expertise lies in strategy, risk management, governance, change management, compliance, and financial management. A member of multiple Boards, Ian imparts his 30 years of wisdom for objectives of growth and good strategy.

Originally from Dublin, Ireland, Trish relocated to South Australia in 2013 with her family, bringing with her a rich and diverse professional background. With experience across the dental, real estate, and village management sectors, Trish has developed strong capabilities in client service, communication, and operational leadership.

Trish found her professional calling in the retirement living industry, where her passion for building supportive and well-managed communities truly shines. She is committed to enhancing the quality of life for older Australians through thoughtful leadership and a genuinely compassionate approach.

Drawing on her extensive experience, Trish ensures day-to-day operations run smoothly while also supporting strategic planning and compliance across our organisation. She is actively involved in promoting sustainability, financial stewardship, and innovation within our retirement living community.

Outside of work, Trish enjoys travelling, sightseeing, and camping with family and friends. A creative spirit at heart, she also enjoys artistic pursuits—and when time permits, she’s always up for a round of golf!

Janet Sperou is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience across various sectors, including manufacturing, retail sales, pharmacy, and insurance. Beyond her financial expertise, she has successfully managed furniture manufacturing and specialised sales companies.

Outside of work, Janet finds joy in spending time with her family, cooking, reading, and exploring other cultures through overseas travel. Her commitment to community service is evident through past involvement with organisations such as St John Ambulance, HeartKids, and contributing to the preservation of paddlesteamers on the Murray River in SA. Currently working part-time, Janet is eager to explore new opportunities for community service.

Julian Dottore is an accomplished technician with a background in maintenance and contracting. He holds qualifications as a Cabinet Maker and has developed expertise in general maintenance, insulation installation, and landscaping. Prior to joining Pineview Village as the Maintenance Coordinator, Julian worked in Joinery as the Team Lead, where he honed his skills in managing projects and delivering high-quality workmanship.

Julian is passionate about helping others, and working at Pineview Village has given him the opportunity to interact with and get to know the residents. His exceptional communication and problem-solving skills have made him a valuable asset to the team. Outside of work, Julian enjoys playing soccer and volunteering as a coach for his local club. He also enjoys renovating his home and cars, and spending quality time with his family. Julian’s enthusiasm and dedication to his work make him a valuable member of the Pineview Village team.

Michelle Cheetham is an accomplished property professional with extensive experience in finance, management, and community engagement. She began her career as a Finance Officer for Devine Homes before moving on to become an Assistant Manager for Urbanest Student Accommodation. In 2016, she became Operations Manager before assuming the role of Village Manager for Retire Australia. Michelle is currently serving as the Executive Manager for Burnside Retirement Services Incorporated, where she applies her expertise in strategic planning, budget management, and business process improvement.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Michelle is an active member of her community, serving as a Board Member of King’s Community Services since 2013. She also took on the role of Acting Manager for King’s Community Services from 2014 to 2015. Michelle is a devoted mother of three and enjoys reading and family vacations in her spare time.

Michael Vullings is a knowledgeable professional with extensive experience in both the trades and project management. He holds a trade qualification as an electrician and successfully ran his own business for 25 years before transitioning into project management for Lutheran Homes Inc. (LHI). In 2020, Michael was appointed to the position of General Manager for Retirement Living and Community Care at LHI, demonstrating his exceptional leadership and management skills. Currently, he serves as Resident Liaison Manager for Pineview Village, where he continues to excel in his field.

Outside of his work, Michael is an avid animal lover and enjoys spending time with his family. He particularly loves camping and exploring the great outdoors. Michael’s commitment to his profession and his passion for his personal interests make him a well-rounded and accomplished individual. His dedication and hard work have earned him a reputation as a skilled professional with a wealth of experience in his field.

Joining the BRSI board in 2022 is Jock Berry, a senior executive and people leader with broad experience in the property industry from working within Private, State and Local Government and Defence Sectors. He is currently the National Property Manager for Beyond Bank Australia and has a Bachelor of Business in Property from University SA.

Jock has strong community interest, Not for Profit, and social housing expertise. He was the Chair of The Cottage Homes Incorporated until 2021 and was instrumental in coordinating positive change programs to facilitate the growth of the organisation as it embarks into its 150th year. Jock is married with two daughters who are both studying at University. In his spare time, he enjoys exercising, water skiing, gardening, and experiencing all that South Australia offers.

Joan worked for 20 years at the executive level in the SA Public Service in a career characterised by a solid commitment to ethics and integrity, equity and diversity, social justice, and management improvement through good personnel practices. Since retirement, she has continued this commitment in her work on boards and committees and as a contracted consultant.

She is recognised for implementing equal opportunity and equal employmentopportunity programs across the SA Public Service; leading the Premier’s Social Justice Project in Adelaide’s northern suburbs; reforming the processes of the Promotion & Grievance Appeals Tribunal as its Presiding Officer, restructuring the Aboriginal Health Council (SA) and as the first civilian and first woman to hold the position of Director of Human Resources in SA Police.

Joan gained a public profile for four years in Antarctica as an over-wintering Station Leader at Casey, Macquarie Island and Mawson Stations for the Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition. She was awarded an OAM in the Queen's Birthday Honours List in 2019 for "significant contribution to various community organisations".

Levi joined the BRSI board in 2021 and became Chair in mid-2022. Levi is an experienced strategic, commercially minded governance executive and a professional non-executive director. His focus is on identifying opportunities to support organisations preserve and enhance value by utilising governance and effective risk management to improve decision making and maximising business opportunities.

Levi is a ‘Fellow’ of the Governance Institute of Australia, a ‘Fellow’ of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, and a ‘Graduate’ of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Levi holds a Master of Laws specialising in enterprise governance and a Master of Business Administration, as well as qualifications in governance, risk and compliance, financial crime, and insurance.

Continuing her tenure on the BRSI Board, after being appointed in 2021 is Elena Muller. Resourceful, insightful, and results-driven professional with over 15 years of experience delivering business transformation projects to aged care providers and retirement villages, Elena brings significant value to clients, developing beneficial partnerships and engaging staff to successfully implement change in their organisations.

Elena is the Managing Director at Timemakers Consulting, a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and the Australian Information Security Association (AISA), and the Vice President of the Career Development Association of Australia (SA Chapter). She has been nominated for the 40 under 40 Awards in 2020 and 2021 and was recognised in 2022 as an Emerging Leader in the not-for-profit sector in South Australia.

Elena is fully committed to helping others and only works in win-win situations and with organisations that are people-centric and share the values of integrity and excellence.

Mel joined the BRSI board in 2021 as an experienced executive who has worked the majority of her career within the aged care and community services sector. This experience has included overseeing the management of a range of retirement villages both for SA & National providers. Mel has completed a Bachelor of Nursing, a Masters of Nursing, plus an MBA. She has also completed the Company Directors course plus various other certificates.
